Your Mac, your data.
Effective 16 October 2026Wisp Launcher doesn’t collect, send or sell your personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. What you type and what Wisp learns stays on your Mac.
Who we are
Wisp Launcher is made by Jerome Coloma (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Wisp Launcher app for macOS and this website, wisplauncherapp.tallbottech.com. We handle any personal information you send us in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What stays on your Mac
Wisp stores everything it needs as files in ~/Library/Application Support/Wisp Launcher/ on your Mac. We can’t see these files, and Wisp doesn’t upload them.
- Your settings and custom themes.
- Snippets and workflows, including scripts you write.
- Learned rankings: which result you picked for what you typed. These fade over about a month, and you can reset them at any time.
- Clipboard history, if you turn it on. Passwords and content that apps mark as concealed are never recorded, and you can exclude apps or clear the history.
File search uses the Spotlight index macOS already keeps. Wisp reads results from it and doesn’t build its own index of your files.
Permissions
Accessibility lets Wisp notice a snippet keyword as you type and type the expansion back. Wisp only matches against your snippet keywords. It doesn’t keep a log of your typing, and it skips secure text fields and password managers. Automation and Notifications are asked for only when you use a feature that needs them. You can turn any of these off in System Settings.
When something does leave your Mac
The only network request Wisp makes of its own is the update check. Some things you ask it to do involve other services, and those services’ own privacy policies apply:
- Update checks. Once a day Wisp downloads a small file from this website that lists the latest version. The request carries only what any web request does, such as your IP address and the app’s version. It sends nothing about you or what’s on your Mac. You can turn update checks off in Settings → General → Updates.
- Web searches. Choosing a web search opens your browser at that search engine with your query in the address.
- Workflows. Scripts and actions in your workflows run with your permissions and can reach the internet if you write them to.
- AI agents. If you connect an AI app through Wisp’s MCP server, that app can read your workflows and snippets in order to help you. The server runs on your Mac; what the AI app does with that information is covered by its provider’s policy.
This website
This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising. Like any website, the server that hosts it may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use those logs to identify you.
If you email us
When you write to wisplauncherapp@tallbottech.com.au, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you reported, we don’t add you to a mailing list, and we delete support emails when they’re no longer needed. Ask us at any time to see or delete what we hold.
Children
Wisp isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top and describe the change in the release notes. If a future version ever needs to send data off your Mac, we’ll say so here first and ask you in the app before it happens.
